Don't worry — this is normal, and the fix is simple and cheap. You need a new maintenance box. The only tricky part is figuring out which one your printer takes, because Epson and Canon both make many different maintenance boxes that look almost identical but are NOT interchangeable.

First — What Is a Maintenance Box?
Every ink tank and inkjet printer collects waste ink. During printing, head cleaning, and borderless printing, small amounts of ink get flushed out of the print head to keep it clean. That waste ink has to go somewhere — it goes into an absorbent pad inside the maintenance box (Epson) or maintenance cartridge (Canon).
Over time, this pad fills up. When it's full, the printer stops to prevent waste ink from overflowing and damaging the printer. That's when you see the error.
The maintenance box is a consumable — just like ink. It's designed to be replaced. It is NOT a printer fault.
How to Find Your Maintenance Box Number
The maintenance box part number is usually printed on the box itself. If you can access your current one, pull it out and read the number. Otherwise, use the compatibility tables below to match your printer model.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
1. Don't assume similar model numbers use the same box. The Canon G2020 uses MC-G02, but the G2070 uses MC-G07 and the G2170 uses MC-G04. The last two digits matter enormously.
2. Don't try to "reset" the box instead of replacing it. Some online guides show how to reset the ink counter without changing the box. This is a bad idea — the absorbent pad is genuinely full, and continuing to print risks waste ink overflowing inside your printer, which can cause permanent damage far more expensive than a new maintenance box.
3. Don't wait for the box to hit 100%. Once the "full" error appears, your printer stops completely — often at the worst possible moment. If you see a "nearly full" warning, order a replacement now so you have it ready.
4. Don't confuse Epson's C9344, C9345, C9382, and C9387. They look almost identical but fit different printers. Always match by your exact printer model using the tables above.
